Count on Martina McBride to inspire and uplift with her music — even when she’s not the one singing it.
The singer’s powerful hit “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” has once again come to the rescue of a heart in need of encouragement and support during a very difficult time for New York City elementary school teacher Adriana Lopez, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
The awe-inspiring and famous student chorus of Public School 22 in Staten Island, N.Y., known for their viral videos showcasing their incredible covers and interpretations of popular tunes and radio hits, got together and performed McBride’s anthem for their beloved teacher in a moment that moved Lopez to tears and caught McBride’s attention straight away.
You must watch this video. I did, and I’m still wiping my eyes.
Lopez told the students after the emotional performance, “It’s not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school.”
McBride also sent much love to the students and Lopez:
Music is so powerful and I am blessed to have been given this song. Thanks P22 Chorus and much love to Adriana Lopez http://t.co/O2Nn0ghg4k
