You know when a band tweets simply, “(Please watch),” and adds eight sad emojis, the news is not good.
So when Little Big Town shared a video on Sunday (July 26), with tape over Jimi Westbrook’s mouth, I had a feeling it was to make the kind of announcement nobody wants to hear: That because of Westbrook’s ongoing recovery from vocal cord surgery, they need to cancel a few more concerts.

“We are so sad that we have missed y’all this summer,” Kimberly Schlapman says. “You don’t know how hard it’s been. We wanted to see your faces. We wanted to hear your voices.”
They go on to explain that the doctor thinks Westbrook needs more time to heal so he can be 100 percent.
A link to their website explains the cancellations in more detail.
“It is with deep regret that we must cancel an additional three weeks of shows in August due to doctor’s orders for Jimi to rest and recuperate his voice. We want to come back on the road to you guys at 110 percent, and this additional time will make sure that happens! Thanks again for all of your support during this time, and for your love, patience, and excitement for us to come back! We can’t wait to see all of you.”
According to the band’s official website, their next scheduled appearance is scheduled for Oct. 8 in Bemidji, Minnesota.
