Dallas, do you feel the love from Garth Brooks? Well, you should. In September, you’ll be getting face time with him.
Brooks has announced seven shows taking place Sept. 17-22 at Dallas’ American Airlines Arena. More than 100,000 tickets were sold the first day they went on sale.
Is it just me, or are, you, too, having flashbacks to that time in 2010 when he took Music City by storm with the nine sold-out shows at Bridgestone Arena in the name of Nashville flood relief efforts? Those were incredible shows for an incredible cause and, perhaps surprisingly, not a logistical nightmare existed as fans shuffled in and out the doors when he was performing two separate concerts in a single night.
His Dallas shows are expected to run in a similar fashion. Some days, there will be two performances each evening — one at 7:30 p.m. and the other at 10:30 p.m. And for those of you afraid you might miss something magical or get the musical shaft depending on which show you attend, let me assure you that Brooks adheres to that motto of “go big or go home” every single time he hits that stage.
If you’re attending one of the Dallas shows, you’ll be partying with about 18,500 of your friends. That’s the capacity of the arena which will no doubt be packed to the rafters for every show.
Not that he truly ever went away, but it’s safe to say Brooks is most definitely and gloriously back in action. Congratulations, Dallas, for hitting the G-man” jackpot!
