They’re Back: Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood Will Return to Host CMA Awards

Eighth Time Should Be Another Charm

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Right, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood?

That definitely seems to be the general thought as the two superstars are set to return as co-hosts of the 49th Annual CMA Awards.

And why should anything change? These two are dynamite together, possessing all the natural charm, talent, good looks, platonic chemistry and energy needed to carry the show and keep everyone entertained from start to finish.

Admit it. You, too, live for Underwood’s glamorous and numerous wardrobe changes, and their opening monologues always deliver some serious laughs. I mean, who else in our country music world can get away with poking such fun at their fellow stars?

Plus, they’re both kind of CMA big shots, if you think about it. Paisley is a 14-time CMA winner, which makes him No. 5 on the list of top CMA winners of all time. Underwood has five CMA Awards, and we all know she’s just getting started.

Who knows what these two will cook up for their eighth consecutive year of hosting, but I’m wishing for a cameo from Underwood’s son, little Isaiah Fisher.

Wouldn’t that be just perfect?

Expect the final nominees to be revealed on Sept. 9. ABC will air the show live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 4.
