Jake Owen and his wife Lacey are divorcing following a three-year marriage, the singer announced Friday (Aug. 7) via Twitter.

He prefaced the written statement by writing, “This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. We appreciate your support and privacy in this matter.”

Owen and Lacey Buchanan married in May 2012. Their only child, daughter Pearl, was born the following November.

Owen is performing Friday during Country on the River, a festival in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and Saturday at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
