'Gainesville': Real Talk With Beth and Kenny

Q&A with Two of the Stars of the New Docu-series

You may know Beth as the sporty, hardworking student/bartender, and Kenny as the hunky musician, but did you know they have serious chemistry? You'll have to wait for the Gainesville series premiere Thursday (Aug 20) at 10 p.m. ET/PT to see how that unfolds, but in the meantime, we chatted with the two about everything else we could think of ...

So how does it feel to see all of the promotion starting for the show? You have a huge billboard in downtown Nashville!

Kenny: It's kind of surreal. I've never felt anything like this before.

Beth: I'm extremely excited. You don’t really know exactly how it feels until you see yourself, and then I was like "Oh, my god. This is really happening."

Once filming started, was it hard to get used to the cameras following you around all of the time? How did your friends who weren't on the show react?

Beth: I don’t think it necessarily was hard to get used to the cameras, but I had to get used to other people getting used to the cameras. It was just weird having to get them get used to it, just because it wasn’t really that bad for me. Like by the end of it, I forgot that I had a microphone on half the time.

Kenny: Yeah, we were all kind of awkward the first week, but after a while you just go with the flow. My friends were so supportive, they were all about it and they didn't change the way they acted around me.

Do you miss the cameras now that shooting is over?

Beth: I miss the people. I miss the producers and I miss all of the people that were involved with it, as well, just because they became a part of our family too in a sense.

Were there any moments you that you wish the cameras hadn't been there for?

Beth: No, I don’t think so. I wanted them to capture exactly how things were, and who I was as a person, and if something were to be on there, then it’s my fault, it’s not anybody else’s.

Kenny: Yeah, I don't regret anything.

Who from the cast do you spend the most time with off camera?

Kenny: Definitely Brian. We're still roommates, and he always has my back and I always have his. That's not going to change.

Beth: Kerryn, for sure.

Alright, now let's get down to the serious stuff. Who is your celebrity crush?

Kenny: Tae from Maddie & Tae

Beth: I am absolutely in love with Cole Swindell.

How would you spend your ideal weekend?

Kenny: I don't really like planning. My ideal weekend would be to go somewhere I've never been before and just go with flow. Or drive to Nashville for the weekend, play a gig, find a place to stay, just go with it.

Beth: What I've been choosing to do for the last couple months on weekends is play softball. It's something that I'm really passionate about, the relationships I have from it are long-lasting, and I love it because it keeps me in shape.

What has been the highlight of your summer?

Kenny: Definitely the CMT Awards! I got to meet a few guys I've always looked up to. CMT brought us to Nashville for it, and I couldn't appreciate it more.

If you could be on any reality show, which would it be?

Kenny: Probably Dog and Beth. I'd love to be on there and tackle someone.

Beth: Big Brother, hands down.

What is your favorite song right now?

Kenny: "I'm Comin' Over" by Chris Young

Beth: Cole Swindell's "Let Me See Ya Girl". I could jam out to that all the time.
