Dang skippy she is — the Texas beauty, currently nominated for her sixth consecutive CMA female vocalist of the year award, is pretty much everything you could ever want in a future country icon. Just ask Chesney.
“She’s a songwriter, first, and a real vocalist. She puts it all out there when she’s onstage,” He adds.
So it absolutely makes sense that Chesney would want Lambert on his 2016 tour lineup. And lucky for him, she was ready to sign up.
“I loved touring with her so much in 2009. I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to get her back out here. I love every single thing about who she is as an artist and a person,” Chesney says.
And Lambert isn’t the only shooting star Chesney has enlisted to help him rock stadiums next year: Sam Hunt is also on board.
Oh yes, with three consecutive Platinum-selling number one hits (and songwriting credit for the Chesney hit “Come Over” under his belt), ol’ Sam was a obvious pick to join the group.
As Chesney observes, “He’s fun, alive, and all about the music.” Old Dominion is also on the lineup, which makes Chesney incredibly happy, too. The group of successful songwriters are not only hit lyricists, they’re also good friends.
“They’re hit songwriters, but they’re also guys who’ve played in a lot of clubs and know how to connect with people. I mean, not only are their songs solid, they’re great guys,” Chesney boasts of his buddies.
No official dates have been released yet, but one thing is official. It’s bound to be another amazing summer for Chesney and company.
