Gainesville: How Do They Know Each Other?

How Friends Became Family

We’re halfway through the first season of Gainesville, and the friends already feel like family to us. However, we’ve noticed lots of fans on the show’s Facebook page want to know more about what happened before the camera crews rolled in. How did they all become friends? Where did they all meet?

We did a bit of research and got the scoop for y’all!

The Who: It turns out, Andreya is the center point for the whole crew. She and Kerryn used to work together at a bar, and she frequents the bar where Beth works as well. Andreya has dated Brian off and on for years, and he now lives with Kenny, Austin and Kerryn. Through dating Brian, Andreya also became very close with his sister Shelby, who now lives with Beth and Andreya.

The Where: The bar :08 Seconds is really the “nexus” of the friend group. Beth and Kerryn were bartenders there together, and Andreya, Brian, Kenny, and Austin spend a lot of time there, which is where they all met.

The Why: Why does this group friends also happen to all live together? Originally Beth, Shelby, and Andreya lived together in one house near UF’s campus because Beth is a student there. Austin and Kenny were also roomates. In the first episode of the series, we saw Kerryn go through a rough break-up, which landed her living in her truck. Kerryn had grown close to Austin through going to church together, and he offered her a room in his house. Once Andreya told Brian she couldn’t consider getting back together with him until he moved out of his parent’s house, he too moved in with Austin, Kenny, and Kerryn.

Whew! That was a lot to process, but we think we’ve finally wrapped our heads around how this group met! For more of the Gainesville gang, catch all new episodes Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
