Jason Aldean Keeps Georgia On His Mind

The Superstar Shoots a Hometown Music Video

Don’t worry, Jason Aldean — all of Macon, Georgia, knows for sure that you were indeed “here.”

Or “there,” technically, as shooting for Aldean’s new “Gonna Know We Were Here” music video wrapped last night in the central Georgia city, which also happens to be Aldean’s hometown.

The downtown streets were lined with fans clamoring to get a piece of the action.

Fox’s WGXA reports classic cars, a busload of football players from Aldean’s alma mater Windsor Academy, and historic downtown are all a part of the goodness we’ll see in the video, while The Telegraph boasts video footage of the fireworks used in the shoot.

Make no mistake: Macon locals couldn’t be more thrilled at this news.

One fan told the news station, “I think it’s nice that we’ll be able to see Macon in his next video.”

Aldean has never been shy about his roots and beginnings — in fact, the singer paid a visit to both his childhood home and his old school while in town and was quick to share photos of both on his Instagram.

And though everyone is absolutely thrilled that their hometown boy is now officially one of the biggest stars in country music, they’ll admit: they do miss seeing him around town.

One local told WGXA, “I hope that this is the beginning of Jason coming to Macon more often. And doing more for the city of Macon. Jason could really change Macon.”
