Scotty McCreery Becomes an Author

American Idol Winner’s First Book will Be Published Next Year

Hey, Scotty McCreery, we agree with that mantra — “go big or go home.” It seems the adage has served the singer well as he prepares to release his very first book next year titled Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream.

The North Carolina native, who turned 22 years old Friday (Oct. 9), is seeing the big dream of country stardom come true. From childhood moments impersonating Elvis Presley to being crowned winner of American Idol in front of 30 million TV viewers, McCreery has seen his star rise, all while maintaining the most incredibly humble spirit.

And he’s thankful for the opportunity.

“God gave me a voice and America gave me a chance,” he says. “This book is about those two things. And about the amazing journey that began the moment I decided to say two words about this show I knew and loved — ‘Why not?’”

Since winning season 10 of Idol, McCreery has sold more than 2.5 million albums and has received numerous honors, including three platinum singles and the Academy of Country Music’s new artist of the year award.

Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream will be released on May 3, 2016.
