When everyone started blowing up Brad Pasiley’s Twitter feed with birthday wishes on Wednesday (Oct. 28), he replied with his signature sense of humor.
“Thanks everyone! So glad to be here. Big shout out to Sandy and Doug for making it all possible,” Paisley wrote, thanking his parents for, well, “making it.”
Then he wowed his followers with this:
Holy Cow,my favorite guitar player of all time sent me a YouTube of him playing happy birthday- thnx John Jorgenson! https://t.co/33Q1aydZ58

Who is Jorgenson? According to his Twitter bio, he is the preeminent American ambassador of gypsy jazz.
So he’s that, plus Paisley’s favorite player, plus the man who has played for everyone from Elton John and Bonnie Raitt to Bob Seger and Barbara Streisand. Jorgenson even had his own country-rock group in the 1980s, The Desert Rose Band. They charted eight Top 10 singles between 1985 and 1990.
And then he and Paisley collaborated on Play, the instrumental album Paisley released in 2008.
Other recent tweets from Paisley that are worth noting include some encouragement to buy Carrie Underwood’s new album:
Go get the new @carrieunderwood album y'all! It's called #storyteller. Or as I call it, "Fabricator". But really, go get it.

And one that makes me wonder if he’s going to reveal a trendy “man bun” on Wednesday (Nov. 4) night’s CMA Awards.
Imagine if…secretly…patiently…over time…I've been growing a man bun under this cowboy hat.
