Carrie Underwood Calls CMA Awards a "Labor of Love"

Against All Odds, She and Brad Paisley Are Ready to Co-Host the Show Once Again

We can only imagine how much work goes into planning country music’s biggest night.

A lot of work and a lot of hours, according to the show’s co-host Carrie Underwood.

Underwood told CMT.com it’s a lot of work, but when you’re working with Brad Paisley, it’s also a lot of fun.

“We have a lot of fun planning everything for the CMAs. It can be stressful at times because there’s just so much work that goes into it that I think a lot of people don’t realize,” she revealed.

“I mean a lot of hours - a lot of hours spent just going over everything and practicing everything and changing things - it’s a labor of love for sure.”

Well, that’s understandable. Both Paisley and Underwood have a lot of responsibilities: cracking the perfect jokes during the monologue, looking absolutely fabulous, changing outfits constantly (if you’re Underwood), performing, and keeping a massive live show on track for three hours.

But something tells me Underwood and Paisley will knock it out of the park - this is, after all, their eighth year co-hosting the big event together.

Let the countdown begin! Only one more day until Nov. 4, when the 49th annual CMA Awards air live at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
