The day after the awards show, he went to social media to share his account of the near miss.
“We almost lost one of the good ones last night at the AMAs. During Coldplay’s performance these giant light-up balls were thrown in the audience,” he explained.

“The one in my hands was heroically snatched out of the air by yours truly,” Jonas said of the picture that accompanied his tweet, “just before it had the chance to hit the lovely Carrie Underwood in the head. You’re welcome Carrie. You’re welcome world. #longlivecarrie#countrymusiclives#urwelcome”
Cool story, bro.
Underwood was thankful, obviously. And she tweeted her attitude of gratitude right after the danger had passed.
