Thomas Rhett Confirms FGL Co-Writes

New Songs Could Show Up on the Duo's Next Album

Get three artists like Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard out on the road together, and there’s bound to be some songwriting happening behind the scenes.

Rhett recently revealed that when he last toured with his buddies, they did indeed write a few killer tunes. Unfortunately for Rhett, the songs were written after he’d completed his latest album, Tangled Up, but that doesn’t mean those songs won’t make it onto someone else’s record – like Florida Georgia Line’s upcoming project.

In a recent chat with his record label, Rhett said that’s a distinct possibility, but timing is everything when it comes to picking songs.

“I have no idea,” he said. “We wrote one the other day that they’re saying they’re gonna cut, but they write so many dang songs that I feel like it usually comes down to what is cool and fresh on their mind right before they cut a record.”

So that’s how it works, huh?

At the end of the day, Rhett said he’s happy with whatever his pals decide to do. He gets the emotional process of writing and choosing the right songs to be released at just the right time. In fact, he seems to be mastering that process. His current single, “Die a Happy Man,” is looking to be his next big smash.
