The Song Tim McGraw Streamed the Most

From This Year to Next Year, He Will Do the Best

If I had a nickel for every time I listened to Chris Janson’s “Buy Me a Boat” in the past year, I could probably afford my own Yeti 110 iced down with some Silver Bullets.

And it sounds like Tim McGraw’s in the same “boat.”

When Spotify asked McGraw what his most-streamed song was in all of 2015, he admitted Janson’s breakout hit was his jam.

“’Buy Me a Boat’ is the song I listened to more than any other,” McGraw says. “It’s one of those songs that just made you feel like summer, and made you feel energetic and fun.”

Even now that we’re way past summer, I can picture McGraw listening to it and reflecting on the year behind us and the year ahead of us.

For 2016, he says he is all about doing his best.

“If I get up in the morning, and no matter what my project is for that day, whether I’m going to the studio, or going to write a song, or taking the kids to school, I try to do the best I can at it,” he said in a radio interview. “I can’t think about what the end result’s gonna be of it.

“Sometimes I know if I’m gonna go sing a song, I can spend all day in there and sing,” McGraw admitted, “and at the end of the day listen back to it and not like anything I’ve done and have to start over the next day. But I’ve got to go do the best I can that day and wrap my mind around it in that way. And if I’m successful most of the days, then the end result is gonna be success.”

That must be why he’s sitting on top of the world.
