If a Country Star Became The Bachelor

Thoughts About Our Most Eligible

For all we know, Ben Higgins may love country music. He has that kind of Midwestern, plaid-shirt vibe about him.

But alas, the latest guy looking for love on The Bachelor, which premiered on Monday (Jan. 4), is not a country star.

What if, someday, the reality-show producers chose a single country star to come on the show to find a worthy mate?

One of the bloggers at Whiskey Riff put together a list of potentials, including Brett Eldredge, Chase Rice, Dustin Lynch, Kip Moore and Sam Hunt.

It’s a good start. But if we’re really going to push for a country Bachelor, we might need to go in with a longer list of recommendations. So I’d like to add a few more:

The recently-divorced Jake Owen, who will eventually start dating again and is sexier than any guy who has ever walked onto the set of The Bachelor.

Blake Shelton, who is currently romantically linked to Gwen Stefani, but is far from putting a ring on it.

Also, I think both Chris Young and Cole Swindell are currently single, and judging from the way their female fans react to them on social media and IRL, they would be a welcome addition to the show.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
