Blake Shelton is the first to admit that 2015 wasn’t all good for him because of his divorce.
That said, he recently told Lon Helton in a Country Countdown USA radio interview, that when he looks at the big picture, the past year was one of his bet yet.
Here’s his vague-but-positive takeaway:
“All the awful things that happened in my personal life this year, but the way the year has ended is also the greatest year in my life,” Shelton said.
“Sometimes you don’t know who’s in your life that can save you. I found some people in my life that have changed my life forever,” he added, although he was not naming names.
“Some has been bad and some that’s been pretty good. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do, and that’s put all I’ve gone through … into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before. When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they’re gonna know how I felt about it. And that’s exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people.”
Wait. What record? Is he talking about new music, which is long overdue?
He says he’s going to have a new single out this month and the new album out in May. His current single, “Gonna” was released in early August 2015.
“I want to get it out there. It’s driving me nuts to not be already into that project because it’s all I’m thinking about,” Shelton said.
