I Love Kellie Pickler: Meet Kellie’s Friends

How did our Thursday night friends meet?

If you’ve been keeping up with this season of I Love Kellie Pickler, you’ve seen a lot of Kellie‘s amazing friends Ken, Andi, Dave and Allison.

As Kellie told Ellen DeGeneres, “We have great friends and great people in our life. We laugh a lot, we love each other. And I was like, ‘Television needs this!'”

She was definitely right about that.

We’ve loved watching Kellie and Kyle hang with their crew of friends on the show, but we wanted to know more about them. How did they meet? What do they do when they aren’t chasing chickens and having dance-offs? We asked, and they gave us the scoop.

    How did you meet Kellie/Kyle?

We have a mutual friend, Christian artist Karyn Williams, and we met at her birthday party. We sat together at the restaurant and then Kellie & Kyle invited us along with Karyn and her husband, songwriter Brian White, back to their house for drinks. Ken knew Kyle already because they had written songs together.

    What is your occupation?

With Ken, I’m the other half of children’s music duo, “Huck & Lilly.” I’m also a songwriter, and I currently have a song on the new Brothers Osborne record. I’ve also directed music videos seen on CMT for artists such as Josh Thompson, Dirt Drifters and Bush Hawg.

What is your favorite thing to do with Kellie?

My absolutely most favorite thing to do with Kellie is sit in my or her kitchen with a cup of coffee or a glass of “Champs” (sparking wine) and catch up of life when we haven’t seen each other for a few days.

What is a “fun fact” about you?

I worked as a voice-over actor in Canada, and I was featured in over 100 cartoons in multiple countries!

  3. Dave

    How did you meet Kellie/Kyle?

I met Kellie by playing guitar for her and getting to know her on the road.

    What is your occupation?

I’m a full-time musician. Besides playing guitar for Kellie, I play guitar for other artists, play downtown, play with a fun 80’s tribute band, The Spazmatics (every Sunday at The Dawghouse), and I play/produce sessions.

What is your favorite memory from touring with Kellie?

My favorite memory of touring with Kellie has to be the 2012 USO Holiday Chairman’s Tour. Kellie, Kyle, and I went to Afghanistan, Bahrain, Germany, and Kyrgyzstan. We actually had to land on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the Persian Gulf!

What is a “fun fact” about you?

    I can’t swim!

    How did you meet Kellie/Kyle?

I met Kellie through her work, as my husband Dave plays guitar for her. She graciously invited me to come out on the road with her one weekend, that was almost 3 years ago. We immediately clicked.

    What is your occupation?

I am a data scientist. I apply machine learning techniques and advanced statistical methods to patient level data, incorporating SQL queries and Electronic Healthcare Records, with a focus on predictive and prescriptive analytics.

What is your favorite thing to do with Kellie?

My absolute favorite thing to do with Kellie is relax. Whether we chill at the house, listen to music together or get our nails done, we enjoy catching up, making each other laugh, and schooling her on hip-hop music, or the “hippidy hop” as she calls it.

What is a “fun fact” about you?

I ran the Boston Marathon in 2013, 2014, and will return for my third time this April. I am obsessed with exercise. Also, I am the voice of FarmersOnly.com. My husband wrote the jingle almost a decade ago, and I sang the jingle.
