Blake Shelton Inspired Gwen Stefani's "Make Me Like You"

“That Song Is About That Guy,” She Says

Jimmy Kimmel sure knows how to get to the bottom of things, doesn’t he?

When Gwen Stefani was on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week and performed "Make Me Like You,” he just came out and asked if the song was about her new boyfriend Blake Shelton.

"It is, actually. I will admit that that song is about that guy,” Stefani told Kimmel (and thus, the world).

“What's so crazy is that sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it," she said, "you can turn it into something beautiful, and this whole album is about trying to take something that's awful and healing from it."

The song is one of her best, with lyrics like, "I was broken but fine/I was lost and uncertain/But my heart was still mine." And then there's the hook: "Why'd you have to go and make me like you?"

Stefani and Shelton have been seen together since his divorce from Miranda Lambert last summer. On Sunday (Feb. 14), Stefani and Shelton went together to record executive Clive Davis' pre-Grammys party in Los Angeles.
