Why Carrie Underwood Doesn't Wear Cowboy Boots

"I Know What Look I Want to Achieve"

At a recent photo shoot for Allure magazine, Carrie Underwood admitted that as country as she is, she doesn’t always choose her shoes accordingly.

“I would take high heels over cowboy boots,” she admitted at the shoot in Oklahoma City. “I know that’s blasphemous in country music. I love boots. I have lots of boots. But I just feel much more like a lady (in heels).”

She also said that since she’s been in the spotlight, her look has definitely evolved.

“I know more now. I’ve had more practice. I know what look I want to achieve,” Underwood said, calling herself a good mix of girly girl and tomboy.

The article is about much more than her choice of shoes, though. She talks about everything from pimples (“Since having a baby, my hormones seem to be having fun with my face”) to her lack of abs (“I dislike my tummy. I've been trying to get abs for 10 years now”).

And she lists some of her top beauty must-haves from the drug store, like coconut oil and Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion, and her go-to hair tools: the T3 Featherweight Luze 2i dryer and the José Eber Trio 3 in 1 clipless curling iron.
