Dierks Bentley: Not a Fan of Luke Bryan Ringtone

Comical Faux Pas at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

This is so not music to Dierks Bentley’s ears: a Luke Bryan ringtone at an event dedicated to Bentley.

But, you know, ringtones happen.

It was at Bentley’s appearance at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on Saturday (March 12). And when he heard someone’s cell phone ringing — with one of Bryan’s songs — he stopped what he was doing and said, “That better be one of my songs. Is that Luke Bryan? That’s just disrespectful!”

According to People magazine, Bentley offer the phone’s owner enough money to buy one of his ring tones.

He also joked that Bryan got his idea for one of his latest hits “Strip It Down” from Bentley’s own 2005 hit “Come a Little Closer.”

The timing of Bentley’s new exhibit at the museum, Dierks Bentley: Every Mile a Memory, is perfect. He and Bryan are on the verge of co-hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3, and he has a new album coming and a new tour launching in May.
