Gwen Stefani Has Blake Shelton’s Support — and Then Some

He's All About Promoting Her New Album

Blake Shelton has a new song out. It’s really quite good. But you’d never know that from his recent string of tweets.

Because instead of pushing his own single, “Came Here to Forget,” he is currently all about Gwen Stefani’s new album.

Her latest album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, was released on March 18, and Shelton’s tweets can barely contain his enthusiasm.

“Just hours away til @gwenstefani new album comes out!!! #thisiswhatthetruthfeelslike,” he wrote before its release.

“I am freaking out!!! Congratulations @gwenstefani!!!!,” he wrote when it debuted at the top of the charts.

“I may have gone overboard … ,” he wrote with an artsy picture of five CDs he’d either bought or taken from Stefani’s allotment.

Then there’s the one tweet about that one song.

“Hey @gwenstefani … My favorite song on your album is ‘Rare.’ … Just thought I’d let you know,” he said of the song that she admits is about him.

I want to like that song, too, but that’s probably not going to happen. Maybe I shouldn’t take the lyrics too literally, but I’m still bothered by a line in the chorus — “Only a stupid girl would let it go.”
