Dierks Bentley and Rickie Fowler Tee Up Beers

Golf and Country Music Collide After Rain Delay in Florida

On Saturday morning (April 16), Dierks Bentley tweeted, "Rain couldn't stop us from having a good time #tortugafest."

And what I thought he meant by "us" was him and the sea of fans watching him sing, clinging to his every word.

But now I think that by "us," Bentley might have meant "Me and Rickie Fowler and all of y'all."

Because the professional golfer joined Bentley onstage at the Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to shotgun some beers. It looks like they both had fun with it, according to a report on the Golf Channel.

I've never shotgunned a beer with Fowler, but five years ago, I spent some time with him -- however long it takes to walk 18 holes at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, Wisconsin -- and he never once mentioned liking country music. So maybe this is a new passion for him. Or maybe he just likes Bentley. But I would love to see more country stars have more spontaneous moments like this onstage. That's what live shows are all about.

Friday night's festival was delayed due to the weather, and fans were forced to leave the Fort Lauderdale beach at around 7 p.m., then allowed back in at 9 p.m.
