Hillary Scott Pens a Letter to God

New Song "Thy Will" Launches Faith-Based Album

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott delivered a letter to her fans on Friday morning (April 22).

But first, she wrote a letter to God.

And that letter became her new song “Thy Will.” It’s about how when she prays to God, all she gets in return are these four words: Thy will be done.

“I want to first share, ‘Thy Will.’ I wrote this song about a very recent experience that left me heartbroken, asking why, and facing some of the most difficult days. This song is my letter to God,” Scott wrote.

“As I ask some really hard questions, I hold onto the truth that there is so much to the story of my life that I can’t see, but that I still choose to trust Him,” she says.

The song is Scott’s first step in the faith-based direction, and the rest of her upcoming album Love Remains will be more of the same. She made this song and this album with her family: country star mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott and sister Rylee, with bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs producing.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
