Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott delivered a letter to her fans on Friday morning (April 22).
But first, she wrote a letter to God.
And that letter became her new song “Thy Will.” It’s about how when she prays to God, all she gets in return are these four words: Thy will be done.
“I want to first share, ’Thy Will.’ I wrote this song about a very recent experience that left me heartbroken, asking why, and facing some of the most difficult days. This song is my letter to God,” Scott wrote.
“As I ask some really hard questions, I hold onto the truth that there is so much to the story of my life that I can’t see, but that I still choose to trust Him,” she says.
The song is Scott’s first step in the faith-based direction, and the rest of her upcoming album Love Remains will be more of the same. She made this song and this album with her family: country star mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott and sister Rylee, with bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs producing.
