Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors Gets a Holiday Sequel

The Follow-Up Reunites Original Cast Including Jennifer Nettles, Alyvia Alyn Lind and Rick Schroder

The follow-up to Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors reunites the original cast Jennifer Nettles, Alyvia Alyn Lind and Rick Schroder for a holiday sequel airing later this year.

Titled Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, the NBC special shares the next chapter of the Parton family as they face an unexpected blizzard and make sacrifices to raise enough money to buy a wedding ring for Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Parton.

Other members of the cast will be announced in the coming months. The country legend is listed as an executive producer with Pamela K. Long and Sam Haskell.

“I was so overwhelmed and touched by how many people watched Coat of Many Colors and their reaction to it,” Parton said. “The song ‘Coat of Many Colors,’ of course, has always been my favorite and has touched so many people through the years, especially me.

“It is a true story from a very special time in my childhood. I am so happy to share this story with the viewers and to say there is so much more to tell because mine truly has been a life of many colors.”
