Poor Nobu. Even with their consistently high four-star rating on Yelp, Blake Shelton is not a fan of the Japanese restaurant.
Jimmy Fallon took Shelton to the famous sushi hot spot for a bit on The Tonight Show so Shelton could try a little bit of everything for the first time. He was a sushi rookie and had never tried the raw stuff.
Here are some of Shelton’s thoughts on the tasting:
“Tastes like Easter egg coloring.”
“I wouldn’t know fresh ginger from old ginger.”
“Kind of has the texture of pre-chewed gum.”
“That right there looks like a human tongue.”
“Texture is like Play-Doh, but I will say this to you right now, man to man, I like that.”
“I don’t like that.”
“What could be more disgusting than raw fish? Whatever this is.”
“Oh, my God, no.”
“You said gonads. I’m gonna pretend like this isn’t happening.”
Shelton and Fallon both seem to love the rice wine, though. So much so, that after the long meal full of it, when Shelton tells Fallon that his new single is “Came Here to Forget,” Fallon just laughs and says, “Mission accomplished.”
When the Big Macs come for dessert, Shelton looks happier than he’d been all night.
