2016 CMT Music Awards: More Superstar Pairings Announced

Dierks Bentley, Elle King, Billy Ray Cyrus, Cheap Trick Added to Next Week's Live Mix

Superstar musical collaborations just keep on coming for the 2016 CMT Music Awards with the just-announced pairings of Dierks Bentley with Elle King and Billy Ray Cyrus with Cheap Trick.

Hosted by Erin Andrews and J.J. Watt, the awards show airs live from Nashville on Wednesday (June 8) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Bentley and King will join forces for the television debut of “Different for Girls,” the latest single from his new album, Black.

And just days before his new series Still The King premieres on CMT on June 12, Cyrus returns to the CMT Music Awards stage for the first time in eight years for a mash-up with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Cheap Trick.

Other previously announced collaborations at this year’s CMT Music Awards include Fifth Harmony and Cam, like Blake Shelton and the Oak Ridge Boys and Keith Urban with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.

The list of performers also includes Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett.

On the heels of her record-setting sixth video of the year win last year — her fourth consecutive win — reigning champ Carrie Underwood is set to protect her crown against Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, Cam and Thomas Rhett who top nominations for the fan-selected awards. With three nominations each, including video of the year, they will face off in top categories against Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris, Old Dominion and Sam Hunt, who each garnered two nominations each.

Fans can vote now via determine the winners for video of the year. Voting will continue until Monday (June 6) at 12:01 a.m.
