Tim McGraw in Winner’s Circle With “Humble and Kind”

Maren Morris' Hero Is Week’s Top Album

Being “Humble and Kind” has paid off for Tim McGraw, whose single of that name stands at No. 1 this week on Billboard’s country airplay chart, culminating a 21-week trek.

His 27th No. 1, “Humble and Kind” was voted video of the year at last week’s 2016 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.

And rising star Maren Morris has arced to the top of the country albums rankings with her major-label debut, Hero. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Hero sold 37,142 copies its first week out.

Six other albums are making their first appearance on the country list of contenders. They are Dan + Shay’s Obsessed (No. 2 with 25,848 units scanned), Cassadee Pope’s Summer EP (No. 14), Craig Morgan’s A Whole Lot More to Me (No. 16).

Also, Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen’s Watch This (No. 21), Royal BlissThe Truth EP (No. 28) and Jackson Taylor & the Sinners’ Which Way Is Up (No. 47).

Charles Kelley’s The Driver returns at No. 27 and Don Henley’s Cass County at No. 49.

We see three new songs — Old Dominion’s “Song for Another Time” (bowing at No. 53), Chris Young’s “Sober Saturday Night,” featuring Vince Gill (No. 54) and Pope’s “Summer” (No. 59).

Rounding out the Top 5 albums, in descending order, are Blake Shelton’s If I’m Honest, Dierks Bentley‘s Black (last week’s No. 1) and Chris Stapleton’s Traveller.

The No. 2 through No. 5 songs, in terms of airplay, are Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” Thomas Rhett’s “T-Shirt” (last week’s No. 1), Shelton’s “Came Here to Forget” and Keith Urban’s “Wasted Time.”

What have we here — a girl crush? This week’s chart boasts Kelley’s “Lonely Girl,” Josh Turner’s “Hometown Girl,” Brandy Clark’s “Girl Next Door,” Bentley’s “Different for Girls” (featuring Elle King) and William Michael Morgan’s “I Met a Girl.”

Just observing, not complaining.
