Country Stars Pitching In for Orlando Victims

Cole Swindell, Maddie & Tae, Billy Currington, Others Set for Charity Concert

After a tragedy like the one in Orlando, Florida, everyone wants to help. You want to give blood, hand out water bottles, hand out hugs, comfort the victims, pray for everyone, come together as a community and be as charitable as you possibly can.

That was likely the thinking behind the Country Strong Night of Healing & Country Music fundraiser that Orlando country station WWKA-FM (K92.3) is putting together.

Cole Swindell, Maddie & Tae, Billy Currington, Parmalee, Easton Corbin, Tyler Farr, Jerrod Niemann, Canaan Smith and Michael Ray must all be feeling that desire to do something, too, because they all signed up to play at the show on Tuesday night (June 21) at CFE Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida.

“We will celebrate our freedoms, remember those we lost and together we will be stronger than ever before,” the station’s website says.

Tickets are only $20 — even the Ticketmaster fees have been waived — and the proceeds will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund. The fund will support nonprofits that are supporting the victims and families, LGBT, Hispanic and other affected communities, the underlying causes of this tragic event and other needs along the way.
