Tyler Hubbard Logs Out of Social Media

Says He's Ready to Focus on What Matters

It sounds like Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard is ready to look up.

After a steady stream of social media posts, and a lot of looking down at his phone, Hubbard is ready to look up at something else. His life.

He announced on Wednesday (July 20) that he was signing off of his socials.

“I’ve done a lot of thinking and praying about this for the last few days and I think it’s time for me to take a break from social media indefinitely,” he said. “I spend way to much of my valuable time worrying about my next post or how many comments or likes I got.”

It was getting a little ridiculous, he says.

“I’m ready to get back to focusing all my attention on the things that really matter. I love my fans and promise I’m not gone forever but I’m taking some time to refocus on my relationships, the Lord, my marriage, my family, and my music.”

And it sounds like he intends to use his time wisely. “Maybe I’ll even learn a new instrument instead of learning how to snap chat.”

“I want to make sure that I’m living my life to the fullest and not worrying about making a highlight reel for the world to talk about or comparing my life to other people’s highlight reels,” Hubbard explained. “That’s not what life is about. #backtothebasics”

Hubbard’s bandmate Brian Kelley has not followed in his footsteps, so at least fans will still have one window into the duo’s lives.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
