Brett Eldredge’s latest album Illinois turns one on Sept. 11. But the No. 1 thing to understand about creative people is that they can’t stop creating.
“I’m already writing for my third album,” Eldredge says in a new All Access Q&A. “I write a lot. I have songs that didn’t make the last album that I wanted to save for this album.”
But it might be a hot minute before fans get to hear what he has in the works. He’s currently on tour with Keith Urban while his latest single “Wanna Be That Song” climbs the charts. It’s the third hit from Illinois following back-to-back No. 1s “Drunk on Your Love” and “Lose My Mind.”
Plus, he’s co-hosting ABC’s three-hour concert special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock next Wednesday (Aug. 3) with a guy he considers a forever friend, Thomas Rhett.
“With Thomas, I think that we both have our own sound and differentiated style,” he says. “But also we go together so well as friends and on stage.”
“It’s like you can’t help but root for that guy. I want to ride it up through the years and continue being on stages with him. I think that it’s just really fun to have somebody that’s a good friend but also has the goods to take it really far, and I know he does. It’s definitely inspiring to watch him and the great person that he is.”
That’s cute. Is it cuter than his new puppy, Edgar?
