Eric Church Announces 2017 Holdin’ My Own Tour

Unveils New Pre-Sale Process for Church Choir Members

Eric Church announced his 2017 Holdin’ My Own tour live on Tuesday (Aug. 9) at night one of his sold-out, two-show run at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Launching on Jan. 13 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the 60-date tour will include stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago before closing with a two-night stand in Nashville starting May 26.

Unlike his previous tours, there will be no support acts opening the Holdin’ My Own tour. Instead, Church will headline two full sets each night with an intermission in between shows.

As he has on past tours, Church will continue to cancel any and all ticket orders placed by scalpers, and fans are encouraged not to purchase tickets through the secondary market. Any tickets purchased through the secondary market will likely be invalid by show time.

Church and his team have also developed a new pre-sale system for Church Choir members that will eliminate ticket scalpers from the process. Now through Aug. 23 at 11:59 p.m. CT, members can register for the tour’s only pre-sale opportunity through Church’s website.

Once their login information and mobile number are verified, fan club members will receive a text message with a link and a unique code the morning the official pre-sale starts on Sept. 9 at 10:50 a.m. CT. Then members will have three days to purchase their tickets.

Scalpers and brokers from the secondary market joining the fan club to purchase tickets will be removed through a proprietary system that scrubs ticket purchases using up to 10 different data points and automatically flags orders made by scalpers. Finally, delivery of all ticket orders will be delayed until the days leading up to each show. There will be no venue, credit card or radio pre-sales.

“The way Mr. Misunderstood came together mandated we release it as a surprise, straight to our fans, as it was important for me to deliver the music the same way the creativity hit me — directly and swiftly,” Church said in a press release. “What I didn’t anticipate is that it left me scratching my head a little as this year was supposed to be spent writing. What this year’s open schedule did afford us was time to think through the way the fans experience our music live, and it was important to us that we find a way to stick to these same principles when it came to approaching our shows, down to the way they go on sale.”
