Dierks Bentley Shares Station Inn #Mems

Becomes a Part of This Place Matters Movement

Picture a young Dierks Bentley wanting to play music so badly when he moved Nashville that he’d do anything. Even mow the grass around a bar.

That’s how much the Station Inn meant to him, and still does.

He posted a collage of pictures of the bar on Friday (Aug. 19). In the pictures, Bentley is wearing a This Place Matters t-shirt from the movement that American Pickers' Mike Wolfe is spearheading.

“This Place Matters," Bentley wrote in the photo caption. "The Station Inn, Nashville, TN, home of the best bluegrass and acoustic music in the world. I used to mow the grass around it, back when it was the only functioning building down in the gulch. Now it is literally boxed in like the old man's home in the movie Up! make it one of your places to visit when you come to town. #placestosave @ontwolanes @mikewolfeamericanpicker @savingplaces"

Wolfe reposted Bentley’s picture, encouraging people to get involved, and possibly have Wolfe's followers visit a place that matters to them. And his website explains that because he sees so many buildings decomposing while he's on the road for his show, he partnered with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to create awareness.

Former model Niki Taylor is involved, too, posting a picture of her standing outside of Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville. “This place matters because when I think Nashville, I think ‘honky-tonk.’ That's why I honor one of the originals, @Tootsies_Orchid_Lounge #placestosave @ontwolanes @mikewolfeamericanpicker @savingplaces”
