Exclusive Performance: Mickey Guyton on 'CMT Next Women of Country Live'

A Country Singer at a Texas Rangers Game Ignited a Spark

“Women’s voices are my jam,” Mickey Guyton says in a chat during CMT Next Women of Country Live.

And Guyton learned by listening to some of the very best.

She grew up in Texas in church and listening to everyone from CeCe Winans to Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline to Celine Dion and Faith Hill to Mariah Carey. And we can’t forget LeAnn Rimes.

For Guyton, Rimes is an extra special part of the journey.

“Our church took a trip to Arlington, Texas. I was 8 or 9 years old and I saw LeAnn Rimes sing the national anthem at a Texas Rangers game before she was even ‘LeAnn Rimes’ and that was my journey from there,” Guyton explains.

And the journey has brought her to Nashville, right where she belongs.

Enjoy her performance of “Heartbreak Song” and check out the interview clips.
