Americana Music Association Honors & Awards Reveals Performers and Presenters

Sept. 21 Event Kicks Off Americana Week in Nashville

The 15th annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show has announced is initial lineup of performers and presenters for its Sept. 21 event at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

The night will feature performances by George Strait, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Jason Isbell, Alison Krauss, Parker Millsap, John Moreland, Margo Price, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and more.

The evening’s presenters are Jack Ingram, Timothy B. Schmit, Taylor Goldsmith, Wynonna Judd, the Indigo Girls, Bruce Hornsby and Joe Henry, with more to be announced.

The late Woody Guthrie and the work of Lifetime Achievement Award honorees William Bell, Billy Bragg, Shawn Colvin, Jim Lauderdale and Bob Weir will also be celebrated.

Buddy Miller will lead an all-star band featuring Dave Cobb, Stuart Duncan, Fred Eltringham, Steve Fishell, Matt Rollings, Chris Wood and The McCrary Sisters to contribute to the amazing night of music.

As previously reported, Strait will present the night’s host Lauderdale with the Americana Music Association’s Wagonmaster Award. Named after the legendary Porter Wagoner, the prestigious honor is reserved for individuals who are considered the most valuable contributors to the heritage of American roots music.

The show serves as the official kick-off for the 17th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, starting Sept. 20 in Nashville.
