Kacey Musgraves Reveals A Very Kacey Christmas

First Holiday Album Features Willie Nelson, Leon Bridges and the Quebe Sisters

Kacey MusgravesA Very Kacey Christmas featuring Leon Bridges, Willie Nelson and the Quebe Sisters lands Oct. 28 and promises 12 songs of yuletide joy.

The collection includes four originals and Musgraves’ take on eight holiday favorites including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Feliz Navidad.”

Nelson and his finger-picking on his famous guitar, Trigger, appear on the new song “A Willie Nice Christmas.” Bridges guests on the soul-tinged “Present Without a Bow,” while the Quebe Sisters play on “Let It Snow” and “Mele Kalikimaka.”

In her own words, Musgraves describes her first holiday album as “part Western Swing sprinkled with bits of classic pop, hazy Hawaiian moments and child-like fun, all coming to a nostalgic and melancholy end.”

“I really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record,” she said in a press release. “One that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times. I think that the fine musicians and brains that were a part of this project have helped me create a body of music that can be added to people’s classic collections.”

Starting Friday (Sept. 9), Musgraves will open for George Strait for two nights at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
