I counted eight “oh, my gods” in the Facebook video before Brittany Marcum composes herself enough to realize what’s happening.
That’s the power of Jason Aldean showing up at your doorstep.
There are a few more “oh, my gods” when Aldean explains to Marcum that he’s giving her tickets to his show that night, an advance copy of his album, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and more. And then he tells her she gets to be his roadie for a day at the Fenway Park show in Boston.
Marcum, who lives near the Lexington, Kentucky, venue Aldean was playing on Saturday (Sept. 3), seemed genuinely shocked when he showed up. Even more so when he came inside to hang out.
“Oh, my gosh, you’re in my apartment. Oh, my god, you’re in my apartment. Oh, my gosh, I can’t believe you’re in my apartment. Oh, my gosh, this is insane. Wanna hang out? Do you want a beer,” she asked, and Aldean gladly accepted a can of Miller Lite.
Marcum and Aldean tried, endlessly, to FaceTime her boyfriend, and while they were waiting for him to call back, she explained the hall-pass agreement she and her boyfriend have: Aldean is her cheat, and Carrie Underwood is her boyfriend’s.
“How you gonna feel,” Aldean asked her, “if she’s over at his apartment?”
After about 10 minutes of hanging out, and autographing all kinds of things in Marcum’s apartment, including a Woodford Reserve barrel head, Aldean needs to get back to the venue for sound check.
“You have to go?” Marcum asks sadly.
Apparently, 10 minutes of Aldean just wasn’t enough.
