If God made girls, then He sure worked some magic when He made RaeLynn.
That’s what I thought when I first talked with the country newcomer on a radio tour in 2014 when she was promoting her debut single “God Made Girls.”
She’d written that song with an absolute genius trio: Nicolle Galyon, Lori McKenna and Liz Rose. So now that she’s about to release a full album of more songs like that, songs that are so her, it’s likely to be one of the year’s best releases.
“I’ve always wanted to put out an album where my personality and songwriting could really shine through and I feel like WildHorse finally gives fans a true glimpse into who I am as an artist and a young woman,” RaeLynn said in a press release.
She also posted a video on social media on Friday (Sept. 9) telling fans she’s was excited to let them hear what she’s been working on for the last four years.
WildHorse won’t be released until Dec. 2, but the lead single “Love Triangle” — about a child caught in the middle of her parents’ divorce — is out now. RaeLynn wrote that one with Galyon and Jimmy Robbins.
The upcoming album also includes performances with Dan + Shay and singer-songwriter Leeland Mooring.
RaeLynn is currently on tour though early October with Blake Shelton, her mentor from The Voice when she was a contestant in 2012.
