Loretta Lynn Releasing First Holiday Album Since 1966

'White Christmas Blue' Set to Arrive Oct. 7

Loretta Lynn's White Christmas Blue, her first holiday album since 1966's Country Christmas, will be released Oct. 7 by Legacy Recordings.

White Christmas Blue's title track was written by the Country Music Hall of Fame member and Shawn Camp, who also contributes acoustic guitar and backing vocals on the collection.

The new album features 12 songs, including new versions of two other Lynn compositions -- "Country Christmas" and "To Heck With Ole Santa Claus" which first appeared on her 1966 album. It also contains a selection of traditional carols and holiday pop standards, along with a recitation of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

White Christmas Blue was produced by Patsy Lynn Russell and John Carter Cash at Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Earlier this month, Lynn canceled a series of concerts after sustaining injuries in a fall at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. According to her website, she's scheduled to resume her performance schedule with shows Sept. 23-24 at the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.
