In the September issue of industry publication Country Aircheck, there is a special section devoted to looking back at a decade of some of the best interviews the magazine has done.
Like the one from December 2012 with Blake Shelton.
“More than anything I worry about losing my spot in country music because that is easily the most important thing in the world to me when it comes to my career,” Shelton said. “And when it comes to my personal life, even.”
That was four years ago, right after he’d joined The Voice and two and a half years before he and Miranda Lambert divorced.
“God dang it, country music is my heart,” he said.
“That’s always the thing that has been in the back of my mind. Am I spending too much time with television?
“But the CMAs this year shook me up a little bit with the entertainer award,” he said of being named the Country Music Association’s 2012 entertainer of the year.
