It’s a delicate balancing act, and it’s one that Luke Bryan pulls off album after album.
He always has at least one ballad that paints a picture of falling in love on a farm — maybe up in a hay loft or down at the floatin’ dock or sittin’ out under the stars — but he does it without overdoing it.
In a new video online, Bryan explains how his new song “You Look Like Rain” is that song.
“’You Look Like Rain’ is certainly just a beautifully done love song that seems to work on the Farm Tour. It doesn’t scream all these farming things,” Bryan says, adding that the elements of rain and farming are the exceptions.
“I love how the song compares the girl to how wonderful rain is in a time that you need it,” he said. “It’s just a song that I feel like rounds out the album perfectly.”
The song, written by Marti Dodson, Bobby Hamrick and Tony Lane, is on Bryan’s Farm Tour…Here’s to the Farmer EP. He’s also going to be out on the road playing it live on his Farm Tour, which starts on Oct. 5 in Gaston, South Carolina and ends on Oct. 15 in Effingham, Illinois.
