Love doesn't last forever. And yet, the love songs about how fleeting it can be sure do.

That's why I'm sure this new song of Kelsea Ballerini's is bound to last.

She previewed a very short portion of the song on social media, and explained where her heart was. She'd shared it on Snapchat first, and there were some mixed reactions.

"Been working on the new record and writing like crazy," Ballerini wrote. "Love sharing little pieces as I put the puzzle together, and shared part of this new one on my snap last week. Lots of rumors came from it, so I thought I'd share a bit more and let y'all in further."

She nixed the rumors that she was working on a duet with Taylor Swift -- "It's not a collaboration with anyone" -- and said she is not making a pop record.

What she is doing is pushing the country envelope a bit.

"Just exploring all the boundaries of songwriting and creativity I have so I can make the best record I can make for both me and you," she said. "So, this is 'Roses.'"
