Exclusive Performance: Lucie Silvas’ “Smoke”

UK-Born Singer-Songwriter Visits CMT Next Women of Country Live

Big voices with big presence: That’s how Lucie Silvas describes a few of her biggest musical influences.

The UK-born singer-songwriter credits her parents’ record collection as her earliest inspiration. From the Jackson Five and Jackie Wilson to Roy Orbison and Aretha Franklin — even Merle Haggard and Hank Williams — the “Letters to Ghosts” singer grew up on the greats and dreamed of being onstage just like them.

Silvas became a powerhouse in her own right. Her booming voice embodies the perfect balance of fiery soul and sultry smoke with a vulnerability that puts her in a class of her own.

She landed in Nashville in 2007 and hasn’t looked back musically and personally. Silvas is married to Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne and a true and beloved friend of the music community here. Although England will always be close to her heart, she says Nashville is truly her home now.

Check out her exclusive performance of “Smoke” and enjoy her CMT Next Women of Country Live interview.
