Everything We Know About Nashville Season 5

Spoiler Alert!

Ever since CMT announced it is bringing Nashville back for Season 5, we have been dying for any piece of information we can get our hands on.

Here’s everything we know so far, in no particular order, because we are way too excited about all of it to pick a favorite!

  1. Juliette is BACK!

Last season’s finale ended with the airport losing contact with Juliette’s plane, leaving us wondering if one of our leading ladies would make it to Season 5. Luckily, the gorgeous promo that was recently released featured actress Hayden Panettiere in all her glory. But we can’t help but wonder, what happened to the plane?

  2. We are welcoming lots of new faces to the family.

The first addition to the cast we heard about was Rhiannon Giddens, who posted this adorable selfie with Charles Esten at the table read for the season premiere.

  3. There will be way more MUSIC!

New show-runner Marshall Herskovitz has promised shorter scripts, longer scenes, and “time for the music to play out.” And that’s music to our ears!

  4. Voldemort is coming to Nashville.

We just found out that Christian Coulson, who played a young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will portray Damien George, “a sought-after British director who will be helming Gunnar Scott & Scarlett O’Connor’s first video.”

  5. There’s a new diva in town.

We were thrilled to find out that Disney alum Bridgit Mendler joined the Nashville cast as Ashley Wilkenson, a young, beautiful YouTube sensation who is about to record her first album. Ashley is self-assured, stubborn and extremely talented, but behind her tough exterior is a well of vulnerability.

  6. The cast loves the #Nashies!

OK, we definitely already knew this, but ever since the Nashies took to social media to save the show, the cast has been extra loud about their love of the Nashville fandom. They really are the best fans out there!

Nashville returns with a special two-hour premiere on Jan. 5 on CMT. Longtime SVOD partner Hulu will continue to bring fans new episodes of Nashville by making them available to stream the day after they air on CMT.
