In February, Little Big Town will be moving into the Ryman Auditorium.
The legendary venue in downtown Nashville has never hosted a residency before. But for six nights next year, the band will be performing as part of the Little Big Town at the Mother Church series. The series was announced on Tuesday (Nov. 1) at the Ryman Auditorium.
The residency will start on Feb. 24, the same day that the band’s seventh studio album The Breaker is released. It was also announced on Tuesday that the album’s first single “Better Man” was written by Taylor Swift.
Additional dates scheduled for the residency are Feb. 25, May 19-20 and Sept. 15-16. Brent Cobb opens the Feb. 24 show, with Ashley Monroe set to open on Feb. 25. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
“As musicians, there is no better feeling in the world than playing on the stage at the Ryman. To be given the opportunity to headline their first residency means so much to us as a band and we promise to make each night as memorable for the fans as possible,” Jimi Westbrook said.
And Westbrook’s wife and bandmate Karen Fairchild had this to say about the new album.
“The Breaker is about letting go of things that break you,” she said. “It’s about the new ground you try and break as a human being and as a musician. Sometimes you’re the one that’s broken, and sometimes you’re the breaker.
“It’s a sentimental record because we’re feeling super grateful for our friends and family and the chance to share the next chapter.”
