If you’ve ever wondered what Christmas was like at Loretta Lynn’s house, wonder no more.
In her brand new video for the holiday tune “Country Christmas,” the Country Music Hall of Fame member gives us a sneak peek at her big family’s holiday traditions. Snippets of home videos from Christmases past float in and out as she serenades us beside her tree accompanied on guitar by John Carter Cash, son of her dear friend, the late Johnny Cash.
Christmas at Loretta’s looks like an absolute blast.
Sticking true to her good old fashioned country roots, because that’s the only way Loretta rolls, the song “Country Christmas” is the perfect descriptor for what Christmas means to Lynn: the strings of popcorn wrapped around the tree, her daddy playing organ, everyone making pallets on the floor and opening presents at midnight on Christmas Eve.
It’s a reminder of simpler times and that togetherness is what really matters.
“Country Christmas” is featured on Lynn’s new album, White Christmas Blue, produced by her daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, and John Carter Cash.
