Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Anchor 'The Shack'

Author Calls Their Duet “Brilliant”

Tim McGraw has a starring role in the upcoming movie The Shack.

And ever better, he has a starring song in the highly-anticipated film.

McGraw and wife Faith Hill wrote “Keep Your Eyes on Me,” a duet that they sing together for the movie, and the man who wrote the bestselling novel that the film is based on thinks it’s the perfect fit.

“The Tim/Faith song ‘Keep Your Eyes on Me’ that anchors the movie is brilliant, resonating perfectly with one of the film’s deepest threads: an invitation to trust,” William P. Young told People.com about the song’s role in the movie.

Young added that making a movie is much more collaborative than writing a novel, and he is grateful that he was able to stay involved.

“To watch so many working at bringing to screen something that was only originally intended to be a gift for family and friends, is a surreal wonder. As the author, I am honored that the movie is a faithful adaptation of my book," he said.

The producer of The Shack, Gil Netter, worked with McGraw when he starred as Sean Tuohy in The Blind Side in 2009.

The Shack opens March 3, and on March 2 there will be a special premiere featuring a filmed conversation with the cast and a performance from Dan + Shay following the movie.
