Lauren Alaina: “So Proud Right Now”

Up Next: New Album, CMT Next Women of Country Tour

Lauren Alaina is down 27 pounds.

But even more impressive than the weight she’s lost in the past year is the confidence she’s gained.

After struggling with an eating disorder for years as a teenager, Alaina is now committed to loving herself as is. She tweeted over the weekend so her fans and followers could find about more about her journey to a healthier mind and body.

“This body is new to me, so I’m still trying to get used to it. I’m still learning to love myself. I want to be the girl who has a positive influence on people’s lifestyle,” Alaina told The Tennessean, Nashville’s daily newspaper.

“I don’t want to be the girl who has an eating disorder and that’s why she looks the way she looks,” she said in the story.

Alaina’s brand new Road Less Traveled album comes out on Jan. 27, and her CMT Next Women of Country Tour with Martina McBride will kick off Feb. 2 in St. Louis.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
