Thomas Rhett: "Chicago Fans are Crazy"

Summer LakeShake Headliners Revealed

On Monday morning (Jan. 23), the headliners and performers for Chicago's third annual Country LakeShake festival were announced.

And it sounds like one of them, Thomas Rhett, is almost as crazy about the news as the fans will be this summer.

“People might not think of Chicago as a big place for country music, but the fans there are crazy," Thomas Rhett told CMT.com. "It's one of my favorite places to play on tour. I’ve actually played Country LakeShake every year since it’s first year and so now to be headlining the festival in its third year is pretty wild."

Other headliners at the three-day, two-stage event scheduled for June 23-25 will be Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, and Little Big Town, plus a long list of artists throughout the fest, including Lauren Alaina, Gary Allan, Big And Rich, Brothers Osborne, Craig Campbell, Dan + Shay, High Valley, Randy Houser, Mo Pitney, Michael Ray, Chase Rice, The Cadillac Three and William Michael Morgan.

LakeShake, happening in the heart of the summer in the heart of Windy City, is one of coolest ways to see a country festival in a big city. It takes place on Chicago's Northerly Island, at the Huntington Bank Pavilion, so while the country songs are playing, the artists and the fans are nestled right between Lake Michigan and the city's iconic skyline on a sliver of land that feels like it was meant for live music.

Tickets go on sale on Feb. 3.
