Oh, Miranda Lambert, can we please be friends?!
In her newest single “We Should Be Friends,” Lambert gives a shout-out to those of us who also have cluttered minds, hard hearts, tattoos, feisty personalities and a love of beer and beauty shops.
We can all qualify with at least a few of those, right?
Just when you think nothing could be any better than the song, along comes the music video.
Shot in Watertown, Tennessee, and directed by Lambert’s pal and longtime collaborator Trey Fanjoy, the scene takes place in the quaint and quintessential small-town treasure that is Wanda’s House of Beauty. The retro-inspired and colorful salon is teeming with equally colorful personalities and, of course, adorable dogs as everyone gets new hairdos and/or makeup and pedicures with cocktails for the afternoon.
Among those getting glam are two of Lambert’s real-life pals — songwriters Waylon Payne and Natalie Hemby.
“We Should Be Friends” is featured on Lambert’s latest album, The Weight of These Wings.
